In 1976, a group of farmers in South Cotabato organized themselves into an Association called Samahang Nayon (SN). in their desire to operate business of their own, the members contributed their resources to raise capital in order to buy a lot and building in koronadal (formerly Marbel) at corner Roxas-Omena Streets located within the heart of the city.
The three storey building and lot which is one thousand five hundred (1,500) square meters housed the commercial Leases And Samahang Nayon Barbershop on the ground floor,Samahang Nayon Function Hall on the third floor. Other services are Lending and owned seven (7) hectares farm lot planted with corn, rice and coconut.
In the year 1991, South Cotabato, Sarangani and General Santos City Cooperative (SOCSARGEN SAMAHANG NAYON COOPERATIVE) was registered with the Cooperative Development (CDA)
with certificate of registration No. CR-118 DVO dated march 27, 1991.
The SOCSARGEN SAMAHANG NAYON COOPERATIVE is by five (5) members of the Board of directors as the policy making body, three (3) members of Audit and Inventory Committee as the internal auditor, three (3) members of the Election Committee who will take the election process and Management Staff headed by the Manager to take charge of the operation.
